krakow

I spent almost a week in Poland in Krakow. Went to Auschwitz and also to the salt mines. Spent the rest of the time enjoying the city and its night life....

The castle in Krakow..super beautiful!

Krakow's city mascot...how cute a big mug of beer!

Tours by golf carts..they are lined up in the street on the main square!

Where else can you get pickles in a bag?? Only in Poland!

The deepest cathedral in Poland at more than 100 meters belowsea level. Oh yeah it is in the middle of a salt mine! which also happens to be a UNESCO world heritage site.

One of the blocks where the prisoners were living in Auschwitz were living.

Auschwitz I: the barb wire and guard tower.

Auschwitz II concentration camp: the train tracks where the Jews were dropped off at and sorted to work or be murdered.

Attack of the Mullets

Visited a few smaller cities in the Czech...Really cute and very gothic/medieval. Here are a few pictures...

Cesky Krumlov town and castle. This one looks like it is out of a Disney flick..so cute!

I had to come all the way to The Czech Republic to see bears....there are 3 of them 'protecting' the castle...weird!

Cesky Krumlov city...really cute...also a UNESCO world heritage site, the whole thing!

A Czech hockey game...really good fun! I cant believe how much I have missed hockey! And this game only cost about 1.25 to get in.

Czech dancers...I think. You never really know because everything is in Czech....
There was a little festival going on in the main square of Olomouc during my stay...music, food, dancing....

So the second best thing about The Czech Republic...the beer is the first by the way..is the wine! You can hit up a wine bar at any hour and buy a pop bottle full of wine right from the barrel...and its cheap...1.5L for about $4.50!

Took a day trip out to another little Medieval town called Litomysl.

Very odd wall full of art by this famous Czech artist....bit morbid though...all the pictures were of people dying or being killed!

Oh and did I mention that there are mullets everywhere here????

A beautiful City

So I made to the Czech Republic and am actually really liking it here. Prague was quite beautiful with lots to do during the day and of course lots of beer to drink at night...and a great night life (and early morning life) to go along with that!
Will be spending another week or so in Cxech before moving on to Poland....

The main square in Prague..really beautiful.

One of the countless beautufl streets in Prague. The architecture is amazing!

One of the many cathedrals in the city. This one is positioned in the main square. Gothic style..

View of Prague Castle on the hill

View of the city from the castle.

The tortue equipment on display in the castle...kinda creepy!

DAY TRIP TO KUTNA HORA:

The bone church...some artist took the bones of 40,000 people dead from plague and made designs in this church....quite creepy but really cool!

more bones..

View of Kutna Hora...a really cute little Medieval town full of nice architecture and cobble streets.
